Goodevening God

Sometimes I realize that I do not take enough time to talk with God. I think we all realize that sometimes, or maybe when doesn't we realize we do? We're all so busy with living, which isn't wrong, understand me right. But when do we really take special time for Him? In my case isn't that so much, while I have plenty time, doing actually nothing, nothing special. For sure, nothing more important than He! I tried all different things to have more time with Him, like I put a cross in my diary, which is reserved time for God, but never used that cross-time for Him. And yes, I read my bible daily and talk with Him daily as well, but real talk, like sharing secrets or feelings... I try to change my daily prayer as much as I can, but I know all the prayers looks the same, same issues, same questions, same thanksgiving and in the same not-focussed mood. So I think a week ago I decided to change this almost ritual daily time with Him, in real time with Him. I'm talking with Him, when I reading the bible, telling what I like or what not and I'm telling the things I don't understand. Like we're sitting in front of eachother and study the bible together. I'm starting with a 'Goodevening Daddy, where would you like to talk about today?' It's hard to listen, but if you try really hard, you will hear Him. Not literally - even when that is possible too -, but in something you feel, in your thoughts, in the words you're reading. The second thing I do, to have worthy time with Him, is writing. I open His word, search for a phrase that is touching in my eyes, discuss with Him what is the most important in those verses and than write a poem about them. It's my way to use a talent given from Him for Him. And a way to think a little more about the words which are standing in the bible. And I open my heart to let Him actually write the poem, using me. I have had the most noteworthy time with Him ever. I love to write, love to write poems, and it makes it even more special to write them with Him.

I would, anyway, encourage you to think about something you like to do, one of your talents, which you can use to have a little more time with Him. Because it will be lifetime experiences!
