Volunteering Pays More Than A Fulltime Job

Every weekend I go to a place where I spent some wonderful hours. It's probably a sad place, but I like it there. I do some volunteering five hours a week in a childhospice. Isn't that hard, isn't that difficult? Well, yes, it is, but it's absolutely more than that. We take care of a maximum of six kids. They all have their own room, their own story and their own sickness. Most of them are newborn babies, they just came into the world with a sick, not perfectly made, body. However they came to live! They came with a reason, like all the other babies who came into the world. They are normal kids, almost normal. They watch you, they cry, they need food, a clean diaper and they smile at you! They are special.

I'm really fascinated by the human body. How it's made so extremely complex, so perfect by the Creator. One little mistake in that whole body can instantly ruin somebody's life. That's a touching fact in my view. The world is anyway getting smarter, new medicines are discovered and there are new techniques which can correct those mistakes sometimes, there is hope. Since I was a little girl (I think I was eleven years old) I decided to become a doctor, with a special love for children. Unfortunately I'm not so far yet, I even don't study medicine, not yet (I still hope to start this year). But there is a way to cherish this dream, even when it's just a little bit. It costs me only five hours a week, only eleven days in an entire year. And it pays more than a fulltime job, maybe not when you see this in money, but I receive so much better things! A lot love from those kids, who absolutely like to play and hug, love and thanks from their parents who appreciate what we as volunteers do for their kids, I learn a lot about sickness and treatment. For all that reasons those non-payed five hours are so worthy compared to the money I could have earned in that time.

I believe that their is something in your life what fascinate you. Something that you're good at. I will encourage you to use that and do some volunteering, I promise you that you will receive a priceless treasure and a life-experience!
