Fly away

Part two. Two? I can almost see the surprise when you see this on your screen (Imagine me: sitting behind my screen, smiling). Don't be shocked, don't doubt if you missed part one, cause I never published it. It is just one of my concepts. A few weeks ago I would write a blog about a special person who recently moved to the USA (Courtney, if you think: this could be me; you are). The words of my heart weren't the words in part one of this blog. Therefor I decided to keep it for myself and share my thoughts with her - personally - later, instead of publishing such a chilly blog. Anyway the title stocked in my head and I was thinking about writing a song. I wrote some keywords down and thought it would be a lazy song about a lazy summer. The day after the two words above popped up in my head. I tried at least to work out part one, but failed again. Last week I remembered myself about the song I already should have written, but didn't so far. It was my free day and I didn't know what to do; so I grabbed my guitar and played some chords while I was hum a tune. There was it again 'fly away'. The sentence just flow out of my heart right to the paper: are you waiting to spread your wings and fly away. I put some chords on it, tried to sing the words on the tune and found out how fun it is to experiment; hoping it would became a good song. I worked on the text something more and succeeded: I made my own song! Here are the lyrics:

What’s the story of your life
What’s the way that you’re living
Are you loving or just beloved
What is the place you live in

What is the course you go?
The path that you pass?
What is your destination?
Where is the safety place?
Are you waiting
To spread your wings
And fly away?

Could others fall back on you
Is it you who loses ground
Are you talking or shut your mouth
What’s the colour of your sound

What is the course you go…

What is your direction?
North, east, west or south
You are His own creation
Do you stretch your hands out?

He knows the course you go
The path that you pass
He is your destination
He is the safety place
So give your life
And spread your wings
You’ll fly away!

PS: I hope I can record it, to sing it for you! If there is something you can listen to, I will tell you here on my blog!

  1. That's a beautiful song! I'm always so impressed with your ability to write poetry and songs. You should make a video of you playing it and put it on your blog :)

  2. Spread your wings and fly away. I've heard it before but I don't know when or where.
